2006 RAF Carp Championships, 19-21 Sep 06, Oxlease Lake Oxford

The RAF Carp Angling Championships 2006 will be held at Oxlease Lake, near Brize Norton. The event will be a 72 hour carp match from 19 to 22 Sep 06. Furthermore, it will be the first opportunity to shine as an RAF Carper and to place your bid for selection in to the RAF Team Squad, which will be expected to go head to head with the Army, Navy and carp teams within the commercial carp fishing industry. Although it is still very early stages, moves are already afoot to enter a RAF team into British Carp Anglng Championships 2007.

The event has the backing of the RAF Angling Association and therefore some subsidy will be available, authority to travel has also been granted on production of an admin order.

However, events of this magnitude are never free and a personal contribution of £84 is required to enter the event. For this you will receive:

1. Entry to the event – Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

2. 72 hrs carping on the prolific Oxlease lake.
3. BBQ/Meal at pre-event social (18th Sep) – accommodation at Gateway Hotel.
4. Carp fishing masterclass and slide show from Gareth Fareham.
5. The opportunity to receive RAF Carp Team discounts from the team sponsors Korda Developments and Mainline Baits.
6. Sponsorship freebies (TBD)
7. The opportunity to be crowned RAF Carp Angling Champion and subsequent selection for the RAF Carp Team.

On application a deposit of £50 or full payment of £84 can be made. The personal contribution has been calculated on the assumption of 30 carpers. If the number exceeds 30 then the personal contribution will be reduced and a rebate (TBD) will be given.
