All Unit Angling Reps via League Chairman Date 09 Jun 04
1. The details of the 2004 Inter-Unit Championships are as follows:
Date:- Wed 08 Sep 04
Venue:- River Trent between Burton Joyce and Gunthorpe Bridge. Exact
pegging will be decided following entry returns, but it will hopefully
be double pegging. Maps will be supplied later to units post entry and
payment.
Accom:- Individuals are to make their own arrangements.
Draw:- 0800 to 0830 at the The Railway Inn, Station Road, Lowdham
Nottingham NG14 7DU
Refreshments:- Breakfast will be available. Details will follow with
pegging info post entry return
Timings:- Fish 1100 till 1600
Results:- Railway Inn approx 1800
Rules:- As per NFA and RAFCAA model match rules. Pike and Zander count
Bait bans:- Blood worm and Joker.
Eligibility:- Only Military, MOD employed civilians and Honorary Members/Old
Lags are eligible to fish. See enclosed extract of RAFCAA Admin Directive
or ring me for clarification.
Fees:- Entry fee is £13-00 per angler or £39-00 per team.
Cheques should be made payable to SERVICE FUNDS RAF BRAMPTON/WYTON.
Practice:- The venue will be closed to practice by competitors at 2359
on Monday 06 Sep. Depending on numbers entered and subsequent pegging
arrangements there may be some pegs available to practice off the main
match stretch on the Tuesday. I will publicise these through the League
Chairmen/Rep. Any anglers found on the match length on the Tuesday will
be automatically disqualified. Ignorance will not be except as an excuse.
Entry:- All entry forms and monies are to be returned by COP 06 Aug
. I do not require individual names this year. Under no circumstances
will any entries be accepted after this time. It is incumbent on
unit reps to get the monies from their respective PEds and accounts
staff
and send them to me. Please do not allow a payment delay to prevent
entry. This will allow for the prepayment of this years’ pegging
fees, slicker administration on the day and practice pegging notification.
If due to urgent operational requirements units are unable to attend
following payment, a refund may be given at the discretion of the
RAFCAA
(Coarse) Chairman upon appeal.
Teams:- Teams will consist of three anglers, although two anglers
constitute a team in regard of the draw. Individuals will be “teamed off” to
make the draw process easier. HM/OLs will again form their own teams
2. All anglers require an EA Licence and it is the responsibility of
each unit representative to ensure that members of his unit, including
individuals, are in possession of it.
3. Individual and team prizes will be detailed prior to the draw.
4. All health and safety matters are to be addressed to myself. I am
also First Aid qualified for any medical emergencies on the day.
5. Travel authority is granted under letter PTC/299001/5/1/1/DSB(RAF)
dated 21 Jan 04 under QR2484(5), which must be quoted for all travel
claims.
6. I will not answer questions regarding the venues form or how to fish
it (I’m not that good anyway!). You have to appreciate that my
bosses get annoyed at 150 phone calls to discuss colour of maggots and
weight of floats etc. I will put the phone down if you ask! Information
is freely available on the venue through angling publications or local
tackle shops.
7. All trophies won last year are to be returned in a clean condition
to the Trophies Rep Sgt Ian Craft on the morning of the match prior to
the draw.
8. All anglers are to be conversant with NFA match rules. All unit reps
are responsible for ensuring a full understanding of the rules by their
angers. It makes good sense in case you fish civilian matches anyway.
Again ignorance is not an excuse.
9. A charity raffle will also be organised. Please could you badger
your own local tackle shops for donations how ever small they are. You’ll
no doubt be spending a lot of money for the champs and during the year
in there, so a little back in return would be appreciated.
