RAF COMPETITIVE ANGLING ASSOCIATION (COARSE) INTER-UNIT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

1. The details of the 2006 Inter-Unit Championships are as follows:

a. Date: 6th Sept 06.

b. Venue: Kennet and Avon Canal on the Wolfhall, Savernake and Brimslade stretches around Marlbrough Wilts.

c. Accom: There are various RAF and Army Units in the local area, accommodation should be booked by individuals.

d. Draw: The draw will take place at the Marlbrough Football Club between 0800 and 0830hrs (Opens 0730hrs, teas coffees are available).

e. Timings: Fish 1100 till 1600hrs.

f. Pools: Optional Pools will be available.

g. Rules: As per NFA and RAFCAA (available on the RAFCAA web site raf-coarseangling.info). Pike and Zander DO NOT count.

h. Bait bans: Bloodworm and Joker.

i. Eligibility: Only Military, MOD employed civilians and Honorary Members/Old Lags
are eligible to fish (see Annex B extract of RAFCAA Admin Directive).

j. Results: At Draw venue approx 1800hrs.

k. Fees: Entry fee is £33.00 per team. Cheques should be made payable to SERVICE FUNDS RAF BRAMPTON/WYTON. Individual entries will be accepted at £11 per angler.

l. Practice: The venue will be closed for practice to competitors at 2359hrs on Mon
4th Sept 06. Any anglers found fishing on the match length on the Tuesday will be automatically disqualified. Ignorance will not be accepted as an excuse. Those pegs not designated for the match may be fished, check notice boards.

m. Entry: All entry monies are to be returned to the Match Secretary by COP 25 Aug 06. Under no circumstances will any entries be accepted after this time. It is incumbent on Station reps to get the monies from their respective PEds and accounts staff. Please do not allow a payment delay to prevent entry. If any urgent operational requirement prevents any angler attending, a refund may be given at the discretion of the RAFCAA (Coarse) Chairman upon appeal.

n. Travel authority: Travel authority is granted under letter PTC/2990001/3/DSB (RAF) dated 13 Feb 06 under QR2484 (5), which must be quoted for all travel claims. A copy of the travel authority is available on request.

2. The Championships will comprise of teams of 3 anglers each angler fishing one of 3 Sections. Results will be determined using a default scoring system ie 1st in Section 1 point, 2nd 2 points etc. Those failing to weigh in will receive a score equal to the number of anglers in that Section plus 1. The winners will be that team which has the lowest aggregated points over the 3 Sections, in the event of a draw on points, total team weight will decide.

3. It is the responsibility of each Team Captain to ensure that members of his team are in possession of a valid EA Licence. Random checks will be carried out at the draw.

4. All Health and Safety concerns are to be addressed to RAFCAA (Coarse) Chairman. It is the responsibility of all Station reps to ensure that any civilian in their team is fully insured and has completed a copy of Annex Q to the Admin Directive.

5. All anglers are to be conversant with NFA and RAFCAA match rules. Station reps / Captains are responsible for ensuring a full understanding of the rules by their anglers.

6. Any complaints or objections are to be submitted in writing to the Match Secretary immediately after the match where they will be considered by the RAFCAA (Coarse) Committee.

7. All trophies won last year are to be returned in a clean condition to the Trophies Rep Sgt John Summerson by the morning of the match prior to the draw.

8. There will be a charity raffle after the match donations for prizes will be gratefully accepted.

9. Bait for the match can be ordered through Turners Tackle (01367 241044) who will be in the car park of the draw venue on the day. (Orders for squatt should be placed 2 weeks before the match.)
