by Carl Hoyle

During the RAF Carp Angling Championships 2006, Mat Williamslanded the largest fish of the competion - a mirror of 31lb 14oz. The capture of this fish proved to be very significant. The RAFCAA Chairman, Sean Corbett who was fishing the competition, pointed out that the fish is a new RAF record for a mirror carp. Sean should know as he was the current record holder at 29+. Although, the record has yet to be ratified, this should only be a formality. The fish was caught on a Mainline Fusion Pop-up, cast to the bottom of a marginal shelf. Congratulations Matt and may it be beaten many more times in the future.
