  2006 WMAL 2 - RAF Stafford lake, 13 Apr 06

On a very wet but warmish day and after a repeg due to proximity of power lines eventually the match began. Bob Sachs began like a train getting into pasties immediately and was leaving all in his wake. Gary Blair decided to up the ante and so put maggot on which brought him success with small roach upto 1 oz. Eventually realising this was no good turned to corn and began to join in! Brian Crofts the local expert then began catching on floating bread and never really looked back catching carp from pasties to 5lb to take victory from the Golden peg. Just about all the weight came from the margins other than Ian Jones who caught from lillies. As it turned out this was one of the better WMAL matches we have ever had. I think a mention should go to “method feeder” Phil leigh who got a slight banjo, otherwise a very close match. Phil learn to use a pole!!!
