index West Midlands Angling League Chairman's Report |
The day was doomed from the moment I was blinded by a pair of bright lights in the morning gloom. They were emanating from a garage on the Sgts mess. It was Gary Blair in shorts! On arrival it was raining but by the end of the match there were some burnt arms and foreheads. Sods law stated that as it was his first match Rob drew the Golden peg and in the normally hospot but not today! Most people began with liners as the fish were just not feeding. After a struggle and his usual mid match walkabout Ian began to catch well and continued his run of good form. Worthy of a mention is Rick Lewis who started to fish for silvers and began to catch carp, how does that work? Gary on the peg opposite was also fishing for silvers and did exactly that? Rick finally, after weeks of moaning, got into the winners enclosure, well done. “Method man” Phil Leigh is worth a shout I haven’t seen anyone pack up a pole mid way through just to get it all out again an hour later. Overall a struggle for most but the weather stayed kind.
